Community Wellness Program

Our Community Wellness Program is an individual client support program for referrals and assessments. We provide support and after-care services for those returning from treatment.

Our program focuses on the 7 dimension of wellness:

1. Emotional 

2. Intellectual/Mental

3. Social

4. Environmental

5. Physical

6. Spiritual 

7. Occupational

Community Wellness offers the National Native Alcohol and Drug Abuse Program (NNADAP). The NNADAP is a Health Canada Program aimed at high levels of alcohol, drug and solvent abuse.

We promote community health and the sober lifestyle by focusing on the three key areas:

  • Prevention activities aimed at preventing serious alcohol and other drug abuse problems.
  • Intervention activities aimed at dealing with existing abuse problems at the earliest possible stage.
  • After-care activities aimed at preventing alcohol and drug abuse problems from reoccurring.

Community Wellness Program offers Clinical Social Worker (CSW). Maria Willick is the Nak'azdli Health Centre Clinical Social Worker. Her primary focus is helping individual cope with and overcome various challenges, promote mental wellness, supporting individuals and communities, and advocating for social justice and wellness. 

  •  Therapeutic Services - work with one-on-one with client or family to address variety of addiction and mental wellness concerns. Facilitate support group and connect individuals with similar challenges to share experiences and support each other.
  • Assessment and Wellness Planning by conducting comprehensive assessment to understand individual's needs, strengths and challenges and develop an individualized plan to address specific needs and goals.
  •  Education and Prevention by engaging with community and providing outreach and education program to raise awareness about mental wellness, additions, health and wellness promotion to prevent the development of addictions and mental illness.
  • Support by working with vulnerable populations, including elderly, individual with disabilities, and those experiencing homelessness or substance abuse issues.
